Be Ready

If you are considering coaching to help you improve performance, succeed in new goals or to get things moving please take a moment to think about what you would like to achieve.

The coaching relationship is an important one, you will tell your coach things you may not tell your partner or your accountant!

Finding the right coach, the right 'fit' is important.

  • Reflect on three things you would like to achieve.
  • Reflect on three things that are stopping you from achieving them.
  • Reflect on what you would like to gain from the coaching partnership.
  • Research different coaches and talk to them about how they work. Look for a feeling when you are talking to the coach, do they understand your language, can you identify with them, can you trust them.

Here are a few useful tips to preparing yourself for coaching:

  • Be open, be honest, be prepared to be challenged.
  • Commit time and energy to explore your problems and possibilities.
  • Make space for your regular sessions and for reflection time.
  • Remember that coaching is about YOU.

"You cannot solve a problem from the same consciousness that created it. You must learn to see the world anew."

- Albert Einstein
